First Connect are looking for a fire and security engineer with experience in fire systems, emergency lights, intruder alarms, CCTV systems and access control systems to mainly carry out installations and day works – experience in the servicing and maintenance of these systems would also be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will need to have at least two years previous experience as an installation engineer in the fire and security industry and be able to work on their own initiative to SSAIB industry standards. You will need to show common sense, work well alone or as part of a team and have a ‘can-do attitude’. You will also need to be a good timekeeper, customer orientated with good communication skills. This role includes call out shifts on a rota basis.
A full UK driving licence is required and right to work in the UK.
Our office is located in Long Stratton but we cover the whole of East Anglia.
The Role
- Carry out installations to industry standards, SSAIB
- Carry out system commissioning and handovers to customers.
- Carry out fault findings on systems.
- Meet predefined target times for installation.
- Clear and concise communication with supervisor regarding customer issues.
- Electronic reporting.
- Effective control of stock & vehicle audit.
- Awareness of Health & Safety.
- To present a professional appearance.

- Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – Basic hours 40hrs per week – plus cover for out of hours on-call on planned regular basis and overtime available
- Competitive salary of £30,000 to £34,000 depending on experience (overtime and call out will be paid additionally).
